550x3 *Edit* I can assure that these were of proper depth. I can use the camera angle as an excuse - whatever - is what it is. I'll shoot from the side next time. However, I can honestly say that I wouldn't have celebrated w/ a gorilla-like rage nor posted if I didn't successfully complete the lift. I don't cut corners - never have & never will because I don't have to. When I put my mind to something - I embrace the work required to accomplish it.** I spent so much time focusing on bodybuilding, I never cared to see where my squat could really go.
With the shift to Powerlifting - it appears I am only scratching the surface. I've had 550 on my back before - but not for 3 easy reps
I decided to leave the Raw emotion at the end of the lift in the video because that's reality. It takes a primal state of mind to get underneath a barbell and walk into uncharted territory. And as in life; when things get heavy - you gotta tap into the raging monster inside of you.
No public gym. No onlookers & gawkers. No compliments. Just me, the bar, the weight & the animal inside.
